Actinoptychus splendens var., Samuel Henry Meakin

Actinoptychus splendens var.

Actinoptychus splendens var. (?) locality unknown. Single example on the slide. Mounted in Styrax and dated May 1935. Also has a label saying ‘136×11’ (not sure what this means, but I have other slides by different makers with a similar format that have come from the same source, so perhaps added by the collector?). Prepared by Samuel Henry Meakin. Olympus BHB microscope using 450nm LED light. 63x Leitz Pl Apo 1.4 objective, oil immersion. Olympus Aplanat Achromat condenser, oil immersion, oblique lighting. 2.5x Nikon CF PL photoeyepiece. Monochrome converted Nikon d850 camera. 34 images stacked in Zerene (Pmax).

Maybe Actinoptychus splendens var. incisa (Grunow) W.W.Wornardt (example of that here). An interesting one this, as even without putting the location down on the slide (and having questions about what it actually is), Meakin presumably thought it worth mounting.
