Triceratium robertsianum, WA Firth

Triceratium robertsianum, 20x Nikon Plan Apo NA 0.65 objective, oblique lighting
Triceratium robertsianum

Two examples of Triceratium robertsianum from Vavau, Friendly Islands (Vava’u, Tonga). Prepared by William Allott Firth. Olympus BHB microscope using 450nm LED light. As well as the arrangement I imaged the larger one using a 63x Leitz Pl Apo 1.4 objective, oil immersion. Olympus Aplanat Achromat condenser, oil immersion, oblique lighting. 2.5x Nikon CF PL photoeyepiece. 11mm spacer to the camera removed to increase the field of view. Monochrome converted Nikon d850 camera. 95 images stacked in Zerene (Pmax).

Looking at this and in particular the processes at each apex, I suspect this is not really a Triceratium, but something else. However it does confirm the ID of another slide on this site (see here).
