Four examples of Surirella pyriformis from timber logs, Dundee harbour, Scotland. In between two circular diatom. Issues with the mountant, and what looks to be the adhesive to the coverslip (those adhesion marks are on the top face of the diatom). Prepared by William Allott Firth. Olympus BHB microscope using 450nm LED light. As well as the wider arrangement I imaged the four Surirella with the 63x Leitz Pl Apo 1.4 objective, oil immersion. Olympus Aplanat Achromat condenser, oil immersion, oblique lighting. 2.5x Nikon CF PL photoeyepiece. Monochrome converted Nikon d850 camera. 20 images stacked in Zerene (Pmax).
