



A strew slide from Samoa seaweed. Wide range of species present. Prepared by William Gatrell. Olympus BHB microscope using 450nm LED light. As well as the strew, I imaged a Mastogloia sp. with a 63x Leitz Pl Apo 1.4 objective, oil immersion. Olympus Aplanat Achromat condenser, oil immersion, oblique lighting. 2.5x Nikon CF PL photoeyepiece. Monochrome converted Nikon d850 camera. 36 images stacked in Zerene (Pmax) for the full image, and also a smaller stack to show the valvocopula (first girdle band). Each possess complex silica chambers, called partecta.
