A slide of Rutilaria (the slide says ‘hexagona’ but I think this is Rutilaria radiata) and Stephanoyxis grunowii from Oamaru, New Zealand. Prepared by WH Darlaston. Some movement of the diatoms. Olympus BHB microscope using 450nm LED light. As well as the wider field view with the 10x objective, one of the Rutilaria was selected for imaging at higher resolution using a 63x Leitz Pl Apo 1.4 objective, oil immersion. Olympus Aplanat Achromat condenser, oil immersion, oblique lighting. 2.5x Nikon CF PL photoeyepiece. Monochrome converted Nikon d850 camera. 40 images stacked in Zerene (Pmax). This is an underside view, with the rim towards the coverslip.
