Porodiscus hirsutus, J Tempère

Porodiscus hirsutus

An arrangement of two Porodiscus hirsutus, one viewed from above the other from the side. Prepared by J Tempère. Olympus BHB microscope using 450nm LED light. 63x Leitz Pl Apo 1.4 objective, oil immersion. Olympus Aplanat Achromat condenser, oil immersion, brightfield lighting. 2.5x Nikon CF PL photoeyepiece. Monochrome converted Nikon d850 camera. 88 images stacked in Zerene (Pmax).

This was a tricky slide to stack and some of the ‘cross hatch’ patterning in the pores of the diatoms has been lost as a result. Amazing to see the side view though. The two diatoms are as present on the slide, I have not changed their positions.
