A strew slide from a brackish ditch, Normans (Norman’s?) Bay, Sussex. Range of species including Melosira nummuloides and ‘associated flora’. Collected 7th February 1987, mounted in Hyrax, August 1987. Prepared by Bernard Hartley. I took a couple of higher magnification images looking specifically at Gyrosigma sp. Olympus BHB microscope using 450nm LED light. 63x Leitz Pl Apo 1.4 objective, oil immersion. Olympus Aplanat Achromat condenser, oil immersion, oblique lighting. 2.5x Nikon CF PL photoeyepiece. Monochrome converted Nikon d850 camera. Single, unstacked frames.
