Kittonia elaborata mounted in Styrax (slightly yellowed). Single example on the slide. Prepared by Watson and Sons Ltd. Olympus BHB microscope using 450nm LED light. 63x Leitz Pl Apo 1.4 objective, oil immersion. Olympus Aplanat Achromat condenser, oil immersion, oblique lighting. 2.5x Nikon CF PL photoeyepiece. 11mm from the tube the camera removed to increase the field of view. Monochrome converted Nikon d850 camera. 152 images stacked in Zerene (Pmax) – big stack.

This is in really nice conidition, with only slight damage. Usually the ‘horns’ are damaged, but both are in place and intact. Amazingly it has been mounted with these upwards towards the coverslip. Very difficult to do that.
