Slide labelled as ‘Heliopelta, secondary plates’ from New Nottingham, USA. Prepared by William Allott Firth. Olympus BHB microscope using 450nm LED light. As well as the arrangement I imaged the larger one at the top using a 63x Leitz Pl Apo 1.4 objective, oil immersion. Olympus Aplanat Achromat condenser, oil immersion, oblique lighting. 2.5x Nikon CF PL photoeyepiece. Monochrome converted Nikon d850 camera. 117 images stacked in Zerene (Pmax). This one (and the other large one to the lower right of it) was actually 2 plates, one on top of the other, but with the main features rotated through 90 degrees. This makes more sense when you look at the cropped images and the video showing the stage being moved to change the plane of focus. As a plus there was a smiley face in the middle.
Actinoptychus sp. (maybe Actinoptychus heliopelta ?).
