An arrangement of three Hantzschia amphioxys var. californica from Amherst, Burma (now Kyaikkhami, Myanmar). Two disc shaped diatoms to help locate them, and some broken fragments on the slide. Prepared by WA Firth. 63x Leitz Pl Apo NA 1.40 objective, oil immersion. Olympus Aplanat Achromat condenser, oil immersion, oblique lighting. 2.5x Nikon CF PL photoeyepiece. Monochrome converted Nikon d850 camera. 22 images stacked in Zerene (Pmax). Analysis of the middle diatom in ImageJ gave striae separation as 543nm, and puncta separation as 331nm (both based on averaging across 10 features).
