I’ve chosen two of the diatoms (both from the middle row of the arrangement) for imaging at high resolution, and made an attempt at naming them – Odontella aurita and Cerataulus smithii. As these are my attempts at naming I have included question marks after the names. For these images a 63x Leitz Pl Apo NA 1.40 objective was used, oil immersion. Olympus Aplanat Achromat condenser, oil immersion, brightfield lighting. 2.5x Nikon CF PL photoeyepiece. Monochrome converted Nikon d850 camera. Stacks prepared in Zerene (Pmax).
