An arrangement of eight Climacosphenia moniligera from Rio de Janeiro. No makers name. Olympus BHB microscope using 450nm LED light. Image of the arrangement from 2 stacks using a 20x Nikon Plan Apo NA 0.65 objective with oblique light, which were then pasted together in Photoshop. Individual diatom imaged using a 63x Leitz Pl Apo 1.4 objective, oil immersion. Olympus Aplanat Achromat condenser, oil immersion, oblique lighting. 2.5x Nikon CF PL photoeyepiece. Monochrome converted Nikon d850 camera. 75 images stacked in Zerene (Pmax).

During stacking some of the features have become a little blurred, for instance the dots at the bottom left of the diatom (seen more clearly in the crop of a single frame). Also I found some crystals in the mountant. I thought the stacked image and a single frame of them had their own individual qualities so am including both here.
