Bacteriastrum furcatum, 20x Nikon Plan Apo NA 0.65 objective, oblique lighting
Bacteriastrum furcatum

An arrangement of four Bacteriastrum furcatum by Watson and Sons Ltd. One has moved from it’s original position and broken up a bit. No location given. Olympus BHB microscope using 450nm LED light. Arrangement done using a 20x Nikon Plan Apo NA 0.65 objective and oblique lighting. Single example with a 63x Leitz Pl Apo 1.4 objective, oil immersion. Olympus Aplanat Achromat condenser, oil immersion, oblique lighting. 2.5x Nikon CF PL photoeyepiece. Monochrome converted Nikon d850 camera. 27 images stacked in Zerene (Pmax). I normally try and clean up the background of the images, but given the fine structure on these, the relatively low contrast of the images even with lighting, and that the slide mountant is fairly clean I have left these alone.
