Three examples on the slide. The one on the right is showing the underside of the diatom, while the other two show the top side. Olympus BHB microscope using 450nm LED light. Arrangement imaged with a 40x Leitz Pl Apo NA 1.00 objective, oil immersion (43 images stacked in Zerene using Pmax). Main image shows the central diatom rotated by 90 degrees. 63x Leitz Pl Apo 1.4 objective, oil immersion.
