Auliscus sp. from San Redondo, California. Single example on the slide. Prepared by WA Firth. Olympus BHB microscope using 450nm LED light. 63x Leitz Pl Apo 1.4 objective, oil immersion. Olympus Aplanat Achromat condenser, oil immersion, oblique lighting. 2.5x Nikon CF PL photoeyepiece. Monochrome converted Nikon d850 camera. 28 images stacked in Zerene (Pmax).
As for a species, I had a bit of a look around at a few references, and I think this is probably an example of A. punctatus (based on Schmidt’s Atlas, Plate 455, Figures 9-12, and a slide on my site which shows an example of A. punctatus, see here).
