Aulacodiscus sp. from Papakaio, Oamaru, New Zealand (labeled as Auliscus on the slide). Single example on the slide, mounted with the underside upwards towards the coverslip (processes down). Looks a bit ‘nibbled’ around the edges. Mounted in Irax II (?) and dated 12th November 1990. Prepare by RH Taylor. Olympus BHB microscope using 450nm LED light. 40x Leitz Pl Apo 1.00 objective, oil immersion. Olympus Aplanat Achromat condenser, oil immersion, oblique lighting. 2.5x Nikon CF PL photoeyepiece. Monochrome converted Nikon d850 camera. 83 images stacked in Zerene (Pmax).
This is not an Auliscus as written on the slide, but an Aulacodiscus. Maybe A. amoneus, but I am not sure about the species so will leave it as Aulacodiscus sp. for now.
