I’ve not been able to find reference to Macleaus River in Australia. I have found Mcleans River or creek, but also a Macleay River all in New South Wales. There is also the town Maclean, also in New South Wales. There is also reference to Stictodiscus californicus being found at Maclean, New South Wales (Studies on Australian and New Zealand Diatoms VI.—Tropical and Subtropical Species, Transactions of the Royal Society of New Zealand : Botany, Volume 2, Issue 15, 20 November 1963, Page 189, available online here). So it looks like this was from somewhere in New South Wales, Australia, probably near the town of Maclean.
