Asterolampra vulgaris

An arrangement of Asterolampra vulgaris from South Atlantic Eocene Core (would love to know more about this and which specific core it came from). There are five on the slide, but one has moved away from the other four, and is actually upside down with the rim upwards towards the coverslip. Mounted in Naphrax and dated November 1974. Prepared by ECP Bone. Olympus BHB microscope using 450nm LED light. 40x Leitz Pl Apo NA 1.00 objective for the arrangement of four, and 63x Leitz Pl Apo 1.4 objective, oil immersion for the individual higher resolution image. The 63x image is of the 3rd one from the left in the arrangement. Olympus Aplanat Achromat condenser, oil immersion, oblique lighting. 2.5x Nikon CF PL photoeyepiece. Monochrome converted Nikon d850 camera. 53 images stacked in Zerene (Pmax) for the high resolution image (and 46 images for the arrangement of four).
