Olympus Aplanat Achromat condenser, oil immersion, oblique lighting. 2.5x Nikon CF PL photoeyepiece. 11mm removed from tube to the camera to increase the field of view. Monochrome converted Nikon d850 camera. 78 images stacked in Zerene (Pmax).
As for what this is I’ve shared another example, also from a Miles slide, here. As with that one, I am thinking this is Aulacodiscus nigricans, although it is larger than would be expected for that.
