A strew slide of Synedra crystallina (spelt crystalina on the label) and some other diatoms, mounted in styrax. While not on the slide, based on the style and typeface I think this was prepared by Watson and Sons Ltd. There is a label which says ‘Scott, 180 Sauchiehall St, Glasgow’ (this is Wm. W. Scott & Co., opticians, 180 Sauchiehall Street) but I think this would have been the reseller for it rather than the maker. Olympus BHB microscope using 450nm LED light. Partial image of one on them using the 63x Leitz Pl Apo 1.4 objective, oil immersion. Olympus Aplanat Achromat condenser, oil immersion, oblique lighting. 2.5x Nikon CF PL photoeyepiece. Monochrome converted Nikon d850 camera. 30 images stacked in Zerene (Pmax).
