Triceratium fimbriatum, 20x Nikon Plan Apo NA 0.65 objective, oblique lighting
Triceratium fimbriatum

An arrangement labeled Triceratium fimbriatum from Vera Cruz, Mexico. Prepared by WA Firth. Olympus BHB microscope using 450nm LED light. As well as the arrangement, I imaged the middle one using a 63x Leitz Pl Apo 1.4 objective, oil immersion. Olympus Aplanat Achromat condenser, oil immersion, oblique lighting. 2.5x Nikon CF PL photoeyepiece. Monochrome converted Nikon d850 camera. 66 images stacked in Zerene (Pmax).

Triceratium fimbriatum Wallich 1858. Published in: Wallich, G.C. (1858). On Triceratium and some allied forms, with figures of the same. Quarterly Journal of Microscopical Science 6: 242-253, pls Xii, XIII. Page 247, Plate 12, Figures 4-9.

I have a question about this (as did Firth given the ‘?’ after the name). Are they all supposed to be T. fimbriatum, or is it just the middle one? Without further high resolution images to compare against, I am uncertain, so for now will just work on the assumption that the name refers to the one in the middle.
