


Strew slide from Ongaroto Valley, New Zealand. Mainly Stauroneis, Pinnularia, and Surirella species. Mounted in Styrax and dated January 1940. Prepared by Samuel Henry Meakin. Olympus BHB microscope using 450nm LED light. I selected a Stauroneis fulmen var. capitata (the only one on the slide) for higher resolution imaging with a 63x Leitz Pl Apo 1.4 objective, oil immersion. Olympus Aplanat Achromat condenser, oil immersion, oblique lighting. 2.5x Nikon CF PL photoeyepiece. Monochrome converted Nikon d850 camera. 48 images stacked in Zerene (Pmax).
