An arrangement of Melosira (I think these are what would now be known as Paralia selecta) from Singeleva, Russia. Mounted in Naphrax and dated August 1966. Some movement looks to have occurred. Prepared by ECP Bone. Olympus BHB microscope using 450nm LED light. I selected two for further imaging. Unfortunately the coverslip ring which quite small, and tall, and I couldn’t get close enough with the 63x Leitz objective. 40x Leitz Pl Apo NA 1.00 objective, oil immersion. Olympus Aplanat Achromat condenser, oil immersion, oblique lighting. 2.5x Nikon CF PL photoeyepiece. Monochrome converted Nikon d850 camera. Image stacks prepared in Zerene (Pmax).
Reasonably certain about the name I’ve chosen for these. Paralia selecta (A.W.F.Schmidt) Glezer. Published in: Makarova, I.V., Glezer, Z.I., Moiseyeva, A.I. & Nikolaev, V.A. (Eds) (1992).
