Liostephania and Coscinodiscus, Richard Gosden

Conset arrangement, 20x Nikon Plan Apo NA 0.65 objective, brightfield
Liostephania sp.

An arrangement of four Liostephania and one Coscinodiscus from Conset, Barbados (although I am not 100% that that is a Coscinodiscus). Mounted in Naphrax, and presumably 1/61 dates it to January 1961. Prepared by Richard Gosden. For the Liostephania image 63x Leitz Pl Apo 1.4 objective, oil immersion. Olympus Aplanat Achromat condenser, oil immersion, oblique lighting. 2.5x Nikon CF PL photoeyepiece. Monochrome converted Nikon d850 camera. 21 images stacked in Zerene (Pmax). Rearrangement in Photoshop to make the square.

Liostephania are intriguing and unusual looking things. I’ve written a bit more about them here.
