An arrangement of three Cocconeis imperatrix (now known as Cocconeis fasciolata). One has gone on a bit of a walkabout. Two examples shown in the main image, with some really nicely resolved features in the stack. Some crystallization of the mountant. No mounters name but prepared by Samuel Henry Meakin. Mounted in Styrax. Olympus BHB microscope using 450nm LED light. 63x Leitz Pl Apo 1.4 objective, oil immersion. Olympus Aplanat Achromat condenser, oil immersion, oblique lighting. 2.5x Nikon CF PL photoeyepiece. Monochrome converted Nikon d850 camera. 60 images stacked in Zerene (Pmax).
