Trinacria regina (underside)

Strew slide from Kamischev, Russia (fossil marine). Good range of species present. Prepared by Klaus Kemp. Mounted in Pleurax and dated January 2003. This is a less formal post, as I am struggling with names for some of these. Olympus BHB microscope using 450nm LED light. 63x Leitz Pl Apo 1.4 objective, oil immersion. Olympus Aplanat Achromat condenser, oil immersion, brightfield lighting. 2.5x Nikon CF PL photoeyepiece. Monochrome converted Nikon d850 camera. Image stacks prepared in Zerene (Pmax).

Unknown 1. Maybe Coscinodiscus vigilans?

Symbolophora microtrias. View from the underside. Bowl shaped. I’ve changed this from being ‘unknown’ and am fairly sure on it now.

Unknown 3. Interesting shape – inverted ‘U’ with the top right and lower left parts bent downward. Various possibilities for this – Coscinodiscus circumspectus and Aulacodiscus suspectus seem like good matches, but it also looks to have aspects of Hyalodiscus to me. Really not sure.

Trinacria regina. Two examples, both viewed from the underside. Fairly sure on the ID’s for these.
