A strew slide from Cul-de-Sac Bay, St Lucia. Prepared by Klaus Kemp. Mounted in Pleurax and dated January 2003. Quite a varied slide, but with some very small diatoms (some of the smallest I have imaged). This is a more informal post as I am unsure are to the ID’s of most of these. Possible names are shown below the images. Olympus BHB microscope using 450nm LED light. 63x Leitz Pl Apo 1.4 objective, oil immersion. Olympus Aplanat Achromat condenser, oil immersion, brightfield lighting (oblique for Cocconeis sp.? Mastogloia sp.?). 2.5x Nikon CF PL photoeyepiece. Monochrome converted Nikon d850 camera. Some are so small and thin as to just be single unstacked images, others were stacked in Zerene using Pmax.
