A strew slide from the Newcastle Estate, Barbados. No makers name. Olympus BHB microscope using 450nm LED light. As well as the image of the strew I imaged a couple of Cestodiscus sp. with the 63x Leitz Pl Apo NA 1.4 objective, oil immersion. Olympus Aplanat Achromat condenser, oil immersion, oblique lighting. 2.5x Nikon CF PL photoeyepiece. Monochrome converted Nikon d850 camera. Images stacked in Zerene (Pmax). One is an underside view, and the other a ‘top down’ view. I selected these two as they look different to the normal Cestodiscus superbus to me (different areola patterning/spacing). However I am wondering if they get often get lumped in with C. superbus as for example here.
