An example of what I think is likely a Pseudauliscus sp. from Moron, Spain. Single example on the slide. No makers name. Olympus BHB microscope using 450nm LED light. 63x Leitz Pl Apo NA 1.4 objective, oil immersion. Olympus Aplanat Achromat condenser, oil immersion, oblique lighting. 2.5x Nikon CF PL photoeyepiece. Monochrome converted Nikon d850 camera. 39 images stacked in Zerene (Pmax).
I’m struggling a bit with this. The nearest I have in terms of overall appearance is shown here. I discussed various possible names there. I think it looks similar (apart from the obvious difference with this having three ocelli). However I have yet to find a name I am happy with. I think this would fall into the Pseudauliscus genus however that is about as far as I have got. I’ve also not found anything similar in what literature I can find on Moron.
The slide has very little information on it, however I did share another one by the same maker here. At the time of writing that I thought it might be by JA Long based on the handwriting, however that would be extremely tentative. Nice slides though.
