3 slides from Microscopium 2026, unknown maker

Three interesting slides which I got from the 2026 Microscopium meeting held by the Quekett Microscopical Club. Unfortunately very little information on them – just the genus name on each one, no species, no location, and no makers name. However they are all nicely made so warrant inclusion here. All are single examples. If anyone can provide more information on them please let me know. Olympus BHB microscope using 450nm LED light. Olympus Aplanat Achromat condenser, oil immersion, brightfield lighting. 2.5x Nikon CF PL photoeyepiece. Monochrome converted Nikon d850 camera. Images stacked in Zerene (Pmax).

First is an Aulacodiscus sp.

Aulacodiscus sp.

This has 9 processes. Based on appearance it looks similar to Aulacodiscus patulus to me, however that is a very tentative ID.

Second is labelled as a Cocconeis sp.

Cocconeis sp.

Very pretty diatom, and again well made. So far I have not found a match for it that I am fully happy with, but it could be something like Cocconeis pseudomarginata.

Third one is a Synedra sp.

Synedra sp.

All are nicely made slides, but unfortunately lacking in information. I added tape labels as the pen just wiped off when I started cleaning one of them.
